In particular, short-term rental business grown to the detriment of professional and authorised private entities such as B&B, hotels, and other hospitality model: which were subject to corporate taxation and other burdens.

With the purpose of protecting previous touristic operators, a rental threshold has been proposed. In particular, any rental business that include over three properties will be qualified as business activity requiring also a VAT number (“Partita IVA”).
